Place of creation: Corduena (Mahmudie) village Hamanlu, church of St. John (Hovhannes) 1672

 

Brought from Western Armenia in 1828. The chapel was built exactly where the ox carrying the manuscript stopped (kneed). Considered to have power of presenting children, healing, protecting. Rituals of healing and protecting from evil forces are executed within the sacral space. Pilgrims visit the old as well as the new chapel, offer sacrifice. Stored in the new chapel that is built on the territory of a private house.
